Fallopia x bohemica is a vigorous growing, rhizomatous perennial geophyte. Fallopia x bohemica is a hybrid between the closely related Fallopia sachalinensis and Fallopia japonica, first described in 1983 (Czech Republic). The species has got the same general growth form as Fallopia japonica, but differently shaped leaves. Fallopia bohemica is considered to be an extremely invasive species as it creates dense and monospecific stands. It can be found mainly in riparian habitats as well as an invader of roadsides and railway embankments.
